I have this one Proud Moment: I got nominated for The Black Bristish awards''

I am absolutely thrilled and deeply humbled to share that I have been nominated for the prestigious Black British Theatre Awards 2024!

This recognition holds significant meaning to me, as the awards celebrate Black excellence and recognize the incredible contributions of individuals within the Black community across various parts of the UK theare industry.

To be included among such inspiring individuals is both an honour and a testament to the importance of representation and perseverance.

To My #PurplePetals 💜

To just be nominated is an absolute DREAM considering everything that led up to this moment.

If you’ve been following my journey, and the above video is a part of a vlogg from my audition process. In that moment, I felt completely defeated and was honestly ready to throw in the towel. It was one of those times where doubt crept in, and I questioned everything—whether I was good enough, strong enough, or capable of continuing.

But in moments like that, I’m reminded of one of a scripture i was taught as a little girl, Matthew 5:16:

‘Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works…’

This nomination is a powerful reminder that even in our darkest moments, the light within us continues to shine. It’s not just about the victory but about the resilience it takes to get back up when everything seems to be against you.

Endless Gratitude to My Supporters

To all who voted and stood by me, I cannot express how much this means to me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. This journey has been an emotional rollercoaster, but your belief in me has made all the difference. Whether you’ve sent words of encouragement, shared my work, or just stood in my corner, I am beyond grateful.

I want to especially thank @mjthemusicaluk, @rowetalent, @peebeez01, @roxxi_sm, #Neevs, #Reon, #AuntyJacqui, and Lorraine Edwards for your constant support. And a special shout-out to Daddy—Rev RL Edwards for always being my rock.

Mummy & Joey, this nomination is for you. 💚🕊️ You’ve both been my guiding lights, and I carry your love with me in every step of my journey.

Why This Nomination Matters

This is more than an award; it’s a symbol of hope. I hope this nomination inspires women, girls, and anyone like me who has hit rock bottom—whether you’ve faced trauma, loss, hurt, or disappointment—that you can rise again. There is strength within you that no challenge can take away. If I’ve learned anything from this journey, it’s that resilience is power.

Looking Ahead

While being nominated is an incredible milestone, it's also a reminder that the journey continues. Whether or not I take home the award, I remain dedicated to advocating for more inclusion, representation, and opportunities for Black individuals across all industries. I will keep pushing boundaries and shining a light for those coming after me.

Thank you again for your endless support and encouragement. I can’t wait to see what the future holds and to continue sharing this journey with you all.

Here’s to Black excellence, breaking barriers, and creating spaces for every one of us to shine. 🌟
